Dark Crystal is Rebel Aromas' budget nod to Versace's cult Crystal Noir, one of the more polarising floral-orientals in designer perfumery. The dupe opens with a tart bergamot-blackcurrant top that mirrors the original's fruity lift, before settling into a jasmine, rose and pink pepper heart that gestures at Crystal Noir's gardenia-and-spice signature without quite matching its creamy density. The base leans on patchouli, vanilla and amber to recreate the warm, gothic depth the original is known for, but the effect here is noticeably thinner and less resinous, fading to a soft musky-sweet skin scent within a few hours rather than clinging to clothing for days. It's a reasonable everyday stand-in for anyone drawn to Crystal Noir's dark, mysterious character who doesn't need designer-level projection, though anyone who knows the original well will clock the difference in depth almost immediately.
