The vetiver-leather heart is the closest match here, bringing genuine earthiness and a touch of ruggedness that tracks with Explorer's signature. The base, though, is where the two diverge - the original's patchouli-cocoa-akigalawood drydown is prized for a smooth, refined, slightly sweet woodiness that lingers for hours, while this version's base notes read thinner and less resinous, settling into a simpler woody-musk finish sooner than the flagship.
