SMEL. Guilty is an Eau de Parfum. Guilty opens with Red Berries and Pink Pepper, settles into a heart of Violet, Lilac, and Raspberry, and dries down to a base of Amber and Patchouli. SMEL.'s Guilty carries a Statement verdict, a fruity-led wear.

Copycat's Guilty reproduces the berries-pink pepper-patchouli shape of Gucci Guilty's original reasonably faithfully, though it comes across softer and less punchy than the flagship's more assertive fruity-floral character.

About

Gucci Guilty built its identity on a bold, slightly sharp fruity-floral-patchouli combination, and Copycat's version opens with a similar juicy energy: red berries and pink pepper give an immediate, tart brightness that's a fair match for the original's confident first impression. The violet-lilac-raspberry heart keeps the fruity-floral direction going, tracking Guilty's feminine but daring character reasonably well. The patchouli-amber base is present and recognisable, but noticeably softer and less earthy than the original's more pronounced patchouli backbone, which gives Guilty a lot of its distinctive, slightly rebellious edge. As a result, this version reads as a lighter, sweeter, more conventionally pretty fruity-floral rather than the punchier, more daring composition Gucci built. It's an easy, wearable everyday take on the same note family, and most people would place it in the Guilty neighbourhood on first sniff, but it doesn't carry the same assertive personality that made the original stand out.
