Because aldehydic florals have been widely reformulated and imitated for decades, this version reproduces the broad powdery-floral character convincingly at first spray. Where it diverges is longevity and depth: No 5's aldehyde sparkle is famously long-lasting and its base develops a rich, waxy, almost architectural complexity over hours, while this rendition's aldehydes fade faster and the drydown settles into a simpler, sweeter musk-vanilla finish.
