Bugatti Fashion
German menswear label turned fragrance player with accessible, modern signatures.
Bugatti Fashion is a German menswear label that grew out of a ready-to-wear tailoring business founded by Friedrich Wilhelm Brinkmann in 1947 in Löhne, North Rhine-Westphalia. Strong demand quickly led to additional locations, including Bad Oeynhausen in 1950 and Herford in 1953, which later became the company headquarters. In the 1960s and 1970s the business expanded across Europe and internationally, and the Brinkmann Group was formed as the corporate umbrella.
During the 1970s Brinkmann introduced the Bugatti name, inspired by an existing mens coat collection in the portfolio, to give the growing fashion business a short and refined brand identity. From 1981 onward Bugatti offered a full range of mens outfits with a particular emphasis on sportswear. Fragrance became part of the brand universe much later: Bugatti Fashion entered perfumery in 2021 with the launch of Signature Black, created by Italian perfumer Dominique Moellhausen. This marked the start of a dedicated fragrance line positioned alongside the brand's clothing and accessories.
Since the debut of Signature Black, Bugatti Fashion has released further compositions for men and women, including the Signature series flankers and female lines such as Bella Donna. The perfumes are distributed through the brand's own online shop as well as external retailers, tying them closely to the broader Bugatti Fashion lifestyle offering.
A designer, mid house known for woody aromatic compositions.
Bugatti Fashion's fragrance arm is very recent, beginning around 2021 after decades of activity purely in apparel. The brand started with a focused mens line, the Signature collection, crafted with Dominique Moellhausen to reflect the modern, sporty Bugatti clothing aesthetic. Subsequent launches have broadened the offer to include women's scents such as Bella Donna, signaling a gradual build-out from a single mens concept to a more complete fragrance portfolio. Given its short history in perfumery, the brand is still defining its olfactory identity and testing what resonates beyond its core fashion audience.
Bugatti Fashion fragrances are competent, wearable and fairly priced, but they do not currently compete with top-tier designers on distinctiveness. They make most sense for buyers already aligned with the Bugatti clothing brand or looking for straightforward everyday scents rather than statement pieces.
