Noème Paris
French niche house built around mystical, inaccessible places and unconventional compositions.
Noème Paris is a French niche perfumery house created by Yassin Karim and launched in 2018 in Paris, France. The brand’s name comes from the philosophical concept "noème", used here to express what lies beyond the subconscious and outside human perception, which Karim himself describes as the inaccessible and the unattainable. This idea is central to the brand’s identity and guides everything from the visuals to the fragrance names.
The first Noème collections were built around places that are out of reach for human beings, translating deserts, sacred sites and mythical geographies into olfactory form. Early compositions such as Kalahari and other White Collection scents were developed with perfumer Majda Bekkali, with later launches also involving Amélie Bourgeois and Emna Doghri. The brand positions itself as independent haute parfumerie, working with noble materials and giving each perfume a strong narrative background, often linked to spirituality, rituals or esoteric symbolism.
Design plays a visible role in Noème’s identity. The bottles feature a substantial cap shaped as an Ouroboros, the ancient symbol of a snake eating its own tail that here represents infinity and continuous renewal, echoing the brand’s focus on what is beyond ordinary reach. On the packaging, a diamond motif references Mayan temples, further anchoring the brand in distant, hard-to-access places and civilizations. Across the line, Noème aims for compositions that do not resemble anything else in the range, with the brand explicitly stating that each scent is conceived to be unique rather than a variation on existing accords.
In practice, this translates into fragrances that combine sensual structures with unusual note pairings and an emphasis on storytelling. Retail partners and reviews consistently describe Noème as a luxury niche house that seeks to push the limits of imagination through rare and precious raw materials. While still relatively young, with its earliest releases dating from 2019, Noème has already defined a clear creative territory around the themes of mystery, inner journeys and the unreachable.
A niche, luxury house known for amber compositions.
Since its launch around 2018, Noème has moved from a first collection focused purely on unreachable geographical locations to include a private collection inspired by shamanic rites and other spiritual themes, broadening the idea of inaccessibility beyond physical places. The house has maintained its independent haute parfumerie positioning while expanding the number of perfumes and collaborating with multiple perfumers, refining its aesthetic towards denser, more narrative driven compositions. As distribution has grown, the visual identity and packaging have become more codified, with the Ouroboros and geometric motifs now strongly associated with the brand.
Noème is a concept heavy French niche house for people who like their perfumes rich, symbolic and unapologetically distinctive. If you want clean, easy crowd pleasers, look elsewhere; if you enjoy ambery, mystical compositions with strong storytelling, it is worth exploring.
