Cedramber
Note Profile
About
Dry ambergris over cedarwood
Scent Profile
Cedramber smells of dry ambergris first, warm and diffusive rather than sweet. Rich, dry cedarwood sits close behind it and gives the note its structure. A faint earthy shade, near patchouli and vetiver, shows at the back.

Origin
Cedramber is IFF's trade name for cedryl methyl ether, CAS 67874-81-1. It is a synthetic molecule made from cedrol, the alcohol found in cedarwood oil. Some suppliers also list CAS 19870-74-7 for the same material.
Usage in Perfumery
Perfumers use it as a dry, diffusive ambergris-woody material in the base of woody and amber accords. It adds an ambergris effect and a dry cedarwood structure. Its tenacity on a smelling strip is more than 48 hours.
