Trisamber
Note Profile
About
Dry, dusty woody amber
Scent Profile
Trisamber smells of dry, dusty woody amber, very strong but not harsh. The texture is velvety and clean. A faint musky, animal warmth gives it a primitive, natural feel, like sun-baked driftwood. It is not sweet.

Origin
Trisamber is an IFF captive woody-amber material, also sold as Woody Furan. Its main isomer is decahydro-2,6,6,7,8,8-hexamethyl-2H-indeno[4,5-b]furan, CAS 338735-71-0. It is a synthetic molecule of the Ambrox family.
Usage in Perfumery
Perfumers use it as a very strong woody amber for deep ambers, dry woods and silky sandalwoods. It adds warmth and radiance. Fraterworks pairs it with vetiver and patchouli to reinforce an earthy base without adding sweetness. It lasts 108 hours on a smelling strip.
