Alexandria UK Arabian Horse is an Eau de Parfum. Arabian Horse opens with Pink Pepper and Cinnamon, settles into a heart of Osmanthus, Tobacco, Labdanum, and Incense, and dries down to a base of Musk, Cedar, Vetiver, and Patchouli. Alexandria UK's Arabian Horse carries an Acquired verdict, a tobacco-led wear.

A budget take on Parfums de Marly's Herod, a smoky tobacco-vanilla fragrance with a devoted following. The cinnamon-pepper opening into a tobacco-incense heart is a fair sketch, but the vanilla-tonka dry-down here is thinner and less creamy than the original's celebrated, long-lasting finish.

About

Arabian Horse is presented as an interpretation of Parfums de Marly's Herod, aiming for the same aura of quiet confidence and old-world sophistication. It opens with a dynamic accord of warm cinnamon and a crackle of pink pepper, spicy and inviting in the same way as the original's opening. This gives way to a powerful heart of rich tobacco leaf and smoky incense with touches of osmanthus and labdanum, smooth and profoundly masculine in character. The base settles into vanilla and tonka bean grounded by earthy patchouli, vetiver, and cedarwood. The tobacco-incense-vanilla structure tracks Herod's shape reasonably well through the first couple of hours. The gap widens in the dry-down, where the original is known for an exceptionally creamy, long-lasting tobacco-vanilla finish that can last well into the next day, while this version's base thins and quiets down considerably sooner. It remains a solid, warm option for formal cool-weather wear at a fraction of the price.
