Boardroom borrows its structure wholesale from Fragrance One's Office - a bright citrus opening giving way to a modern ambroxan-driven core - and the first thirty minutes are genuinely close. Where the two diverge is projection and depth: Office builds a mineral, almost salty ambergris presence that fills a room, while Boardroom's version is quieter and more polite, never quite reaching the same sillage. The base of amber, cashmere woods, cedar and musk is pleasant and office-appropriate but lacks the layered complexity reviewers praise in the original, coming across as a competent single note of warmth rather than a stack of them. Longevity is the clearest gap - most wearers get four to five solid hours before it fades to skin scent, against Office's reputation for an all-day presence. It is a genuinely useful desk-to-dinner fragrance at the price, just don't expect it to fool anyone who knows the original well.
