Dark Shadow opens with a bold, unapologetic burst of leather and warm spice, immediately signalling the rock-star attitude it is going for, in clear reference to Xerjoff Deified. A rose and patchouli heart with a dusting of cinnamon softens the opening into something more seductive, though the transition feels more abrupt and less integrated than the smooth blending the original is famous for. The base of woody notes, musk, earthy accords and an animalic touch gives real presence, leaning into that raw, skin-on-leather sensuality, but it settles faster and reads flatter than Deified's genuinely complex dry-down. This is a scent for those who want to make an entrance rather than seduce quietly, and it does that job reasonably well, with decent projection through the evening before fading to a warm, musky base note. It will not convert anyone who has smelled the real Xerjoff, but as a bold leather-floral for a fraction of the price it earns its keep.
