Sweet Smoke goes straight to the heart of what makes Tom Ford's Tobacco Vanille iconic - a rich, realistic tobacco leaf note spiced up front, followed by a creamy vanilla and cacao heart rounded out with tonka bean. A base of dried fruits and warm woody notes closes the composition, mirroring the original's cured-tobacco-and-dessert character. Where it falls short is texture: the real Tobacco Vanille builds a thick, almost syrupy resinous depth that clings to skin for twelve-plus hours, while this version is noticeably lighter and fades to a soft skin scent well before that mark. Still, for the price, it's a faithful sketch of a beloved gourmand-tobacco composition, and a good way to sample the vibe before committing to the designer original. Best reserved for cooler months and evenings where a warm, sweet, slightly boozy trail feels at home.
