Aromara Kalemat is an Extrait de Parfum. Kalemat opens with Bergamot and Saffron, settles into a heart of Oud, Rose, and Honey, and dries down to a base of Amber, Patchouli, Vanilla, and Tobacco. Aromara's Kalemat carries an Acquired verdict, a oud-led wear.

Kalemat is Aromara's take on Arabian Oud's Kalemat, matching the honey-saffron-oud signature at a fraction of the original's £170. It captures the warm, resinous oud-honey character well, with a slightly sweeter, less refined oud than the original's higher-grade material.

About

Kalemat is Aromara's version of Arabian Oud's Kalemat, one of the Middle East's most recognisable unisex extraits and a benchmark for accessible oud fragrances outside the Gulf. Aromara's take follows the same warm trajectory: saffron and bergamot open it, honey, rose and oud dominate the heart, and amber, tobacco, vanilla and patchouli hold it through a long dry-down. The honey-oud pairing is the defining feature of the original, and this version leans into it heavily, delivering a rich, slightly sweet oud character from the first spray. Community feedback on oud dupes generally notes that budget ouds trade some of the smoky, animalic depth of higher-grade oud oil for a smoother, sweeter synthetic version, and that trade-off shows here too - the honey and vanilla read a touch more prominent than in the original's more austere composition. Even so, it delivers a genuinely quiet-luxury, evening-appropriate warmth that outlasts most fragrances in its price bracket.
