Oud De Wood

Oud De Wood opens with Brazilian rosewood, cardamom and Chinese pepper, warm and spicy, before oud, sandalwood and vetiver take over through the heart. Tonka bean, amber and vanilla build a comforting, slightly sweet base. Tom Ford's original is prized for how smoothly its oud is polished against sandalwood, with almost no roughness or smoke; this version keeps the rosewood-oud pairing but pushes the tonka-vanilla sweetness harder and simplifies the sandalwood's texture, which flattens some of that famous smoothness into a warmer, more conventional woody-sweet finish. The rosewood-oud-sandalwood-tonka arc still reads as a clear homage to the benchmark. It performs well through a full evening, with strong persistence and moderate-to-strong projection, best suited to cooler-weather date nights and dressier occasions.
