Radiant

Radiant is the aromatic fresh entry in Being's debut quartet and the one that will read as most conventionally unisex. It opens sharp: pink pepper and juniper berry with a real hit of peppermint, cut through with bergamot, lemon and orange, and angelica and neroli lurking behind to stop the citrus going flat. That peppermint is the signature and it is used with more restraint than you might fear, giving lift rather than a toothpaste effect. The heart pulls it back towards the barbershop, with lavender and rosemary laid over orange blossom and jasmine, which is a neat trick: it keeps the fougere structure while letting the florals soften the edges. The base is deliberately sheer, just musk, ambrette seed and a little vetiver, so the whole thing finishes clean and close to the skin rather than resinous or heavy. That sheerness is also the main limitation. Projection is good for the first hour then it becomes a personal scent, and you should expect to reapply across a full day. As a warm-weather daily driver at around forty pounds for 100ml that is a fair trade. Spring and summer are its natural home, it is very safe for the office, and it doubles as a gym-bag or post-shower scent.
