Blossom Perfumery 074 Madam INTENSE is an Eau de Parfum. 074 Madam INTENSE opens with Bergamot, Lemon, and Orange, settles into a heart of Rose and Jasmine, and dries down to a base of Musk, Patchouli, Vanilla, and Tonka Bean. Blossom Perfumery's 074 Madam INTENSE carries an Acquired verdict, a chypre-led wear.

074 tracks Chanel Coco Mademoiselle Intense's exact note list - Sicilian orange and bergamot top, rose-jasmine heart, patchouli-vanilla-tonka base - closely on paper, but the patchouli reads harsher and less refined than Chanel's, so the finish feels rougher rather than plush.

About

074 is a direct copy of Chanel Coco Mademoiselle Intense's published pyramid, and the top does a fair job of it: Sicilian orange, Calabrian bergamot and lemon give a bright, slightly bitter citrus opening close to the designer original. The rose and jasmine heart is where the family resemblance is clearest - it's a genuinely elegant floral core, if a little simpler and less layered than Chanel's version, which builds in additional fruity nuances the dupe leaves out. The base is patchouli-forward, backed by tonka bean, Madagascar-style vanilla, labdanum and white musk, and this is where the gap shows most: the patchouli in Coco Mademoiselle Intense is refined and slightly powdery, while 074's reads more raw and dry, giving the finish a coarser, less luxurious texture even though the ingredient list matches almost exactly. Longevity and projection also fall well short of the original's famous staying power. A reasonable way to sample the citrus-rose-patchouli shape before deciding on the real bottle.
