No. 158 works from the same peach-jasmine-amber formula that made Dolce & Gabbana's The One a modern classic: mandarin, peach and bergamot up top, a jasmine and lily heart, amber, musk and vanilla underneath. The initial spray is a reasonable approximation - warm, fruity-floral, easily read as the same family. The original's plum and spice-tinged base has a honeyed richness that carries for six-plus hours; here the base flattens into a simpler amber-vanilla musk within three hours, losing much of the depth and warmth that gives The One its grown-up character. A fine everyday alternative for the price, but noticeably lighter-weight than the original by the afternoon.
