No. 385 opens with the same boozy rum and spice combination that made Bvlgari's Man in Black a modern classic, with tobacco adding a rounder edge. The heart brings leather and an unusual tuberose accord together, echoing the original's daring floral-leather pairing, though the leather here leans softer and more suede-like than Man in Black's darker, almost smoky rendition. The tonka bean, guaiac wood and benzoin base is warm and comforting but tips sweeter than the original's more resinous, brooding dry-down, and it thins out sooner - expect a strong first few hours followed by a much quieter close skin scent rather than the original's slow-burning finish. Still a solid warm-spicy leather option for evenings, just don't expect the same smoulder or the all-night staying power.
