Clean Shaven Bleu de Chanel is an Eau de Parfum launched in 2010. Bleu de Chanel opens with Lemon, Grapefruit, Pink Pepper, and Mint, settles into a heart of Nutmeg, Ginger, and Iso E Super, and dries down to a base of Musk, Cedar, Sandalwood, and Vetiver. Clean Shaven's Bleu de Chanel carries a Favourite verdict, a woody-led wear.

Clean Shaven's De Blue borrows Bleu de Chanel's citrus-woody blueprint - grapefruit up top, cedar and iso e super underneath - but comes across noticeably simpler and less polished than Chanel's carefully blended original.

When To Wear

Best Seasons

Best For:
Spring Summer
Also Works:
Fall

The citrus-mint opening and light woody base work best in mild-to-warm weather; it thins out too quickly to register in cold winter air.

Best Occasions

Best For:
Office Casual
Also Works:
Date Formal Sport

Clean and inoffensive enough for daily office wear and casual use, though the shortened dupe longevity makes it a less reliable choice for a full evening date.

About

Bleu de Chanel has been one of the best-selling men's fragrances since its 2010 launch, prized for a crisp citrus-mint opening that settles into a warm, woody-ambery base built around cedar, sandalwood and the synthetic musk iso e super, which gives the real thing its famous close-to-skin radiance. Clean Shaven's De Blue takes a clear run at that same structure: grapefruit and mint lead the way and there is a recognisable cedar-woody base underneath. What is missing is the layering - Chanel's original moves through distinct citrus, spicy-floral and woody phases over several hours, whereas this dupe reads more like a single flat citrus-wood accord from start to finish, without much development. It also fades much faster, so this works best as a light, inoffensive daily scent for the office or errands rather than a fragrance you would lean on for an evening out, where the thinner base will not carry the same clean sophistication as the real Bleu de Chanel.
