The base is where it earns its keep: dry tobacco, creamy tonka bean and cedar settle into a warm, honest woody-tobacco finish that reads as gentleman's-barbershop rather than sweet. It wears closer to the skin than the original and the transitions arrive faster, so the layered herbal complexity of the real D&G never quite shows up, but for a fraction of the price this is a fair everyday stand-in for the office or a casual autumn outing. Moderate projection, respectable longevity for a budget oil.
