Boa Constrict-Her opens with the same berry-bright energy that made Pink Boa a talking point, blackcurrant and raspberry over a citrus lift, sweet and tart in equal measure. From there the two compositions head in different directions. Pink Boa is a genuinely unusual fragrance, its heart built around a curious vodka and basil accord alongside lily of the valley, finishing on strawberry, patchouli and incense, an odd, memorable combination that reads more grown-up than its candy-coloured bottle suggests. Boa Constrict-Her simplifies that into a more conventional rose and peony heart, then finishes on musk, sandalwood and creamy vanilla rather than the original's incense-patchouli edge. The result is a sweeter, softer, more straightforwardly pretty fragrance that keeps the fruity spirit of Pink Boa without its unusual, slightly boozy twist.
