Grossmith Floral Veil is an Eau de Parfum launched in 2012, created by Jean-Marie Santantoni. Floral Veil opens with Green Notes, Citrus, Lemon, and Blackcurrant, settles into a heart of Rose, Geranium, Tuberose, and Ylang-Ylang, and dries down to a base of Musk, Amber, and Cashmeran. Grossmith's Floral Veil carries a Favourite verdict, a green-led wear.

A tuberose-led white floral that opens on lemon and blackcurrant and settles into a soft musk and cashmeran base. Polished and springlike, it suits anyone who wants refined florals without a loud trail.

Top, heart and base are the brand's own listing, not a timing claim - the industry classifies a note by its character as much as by how fast it fades. Each curve here is modelled from that material's own volatility, so groups can overlap when a house lists long-lasting materials in its heart.

When To Wear

Best Seasons

Best For:
Spring Summer

Lemon, blackcurrant and green notes over a tuberose bouquet make spring the anchor and summer a close second. The warm musk and cashmeran base carries it into early autumn, while winter trails.

Best Occasions

Best For:
Date Casual
Also Works:
Office Formal

Moderate projection and a blended floral heart suit everyday leisure and office wear best, with enough warmth in the base for an evening out. It is too soft to be a formal statement and is not a sport scent.

About

Floral Veil takes its name from the veil on a hat, and it keeps that sense of something sheer drawn over a bright bouquet. The opening is crisp and pleasantly sharp: lemon and citrus, a tart, cordial-like blackcurrant, and a thread of fresh green. It reads as spring and clears within minutes rather than lingering. The heart is the main event. Tuberose leads, lush but green rather than carnal, with a green vanilla orchid beside it. Ylang-ylang adds a smooth, creamy sweetness, geranium brings a peppery, freshly cut edge, and rose arrives later as a soft, slightly powdery petal note. Wearers disagree about how much tuberose they get. On some skins it is the star, and on others ylang-ylang and geranium take over. The flowers stay blended, so it reads as a bouquet rather than a single bloom. The base is a sheer musk with cashmeran and a little amber. Cashmeran is the part that divides opinion: it adds a warm, fuzzy foundation that some find modern and others find dated. Staying power is long for most wearers, though a few lose it within hours, and projection is moderate, among the quieter scents of its collection. It is a spring and summer daytime perfume that is quiet enough for the office and turns softer and more romantic toward evening. It is classical in style rather than novel, and several wearers call it pretty but unremarkable. At a luxury price it rewards a skin test before a full bottle.
