About

CK183 opens with a clean bergamot burst before basil, pimento and coriander bring the spicy-herbal middle that made the original Crave stand out from the aromatic-fougere crowd of the early 2000s. The dupe's opening is a touch louder and more synthetic-bright than Calvin Klein's original, which favoured a softer, more diffuse blend. The base settles into rosewood, vetiver, nutmeg, musk, oakmoss, tonka bean and sandalwood - a broader, woodier finish than the discontinued original's lighter drydown, giving this version noticeably better longevity than the real Crave ever had. Reviewers of the original often noted it faded fast; this dupe corrects that with a heavier, longer-lasting base at the cost of some of the original's crisp, almost synthetic 2000s character. A good pick for fans of aromatic fougeres who want something a little different from the usual lavender-heavy formulas, and a genuinely useful stand-in for a fragrance that's otherwise vanished from shelves.
