About

Black Rose Musk is a 10 ml perfume oil in a jojoba base, applied from a rollerball, and it is a dark take on rose rather than a pretty one. The rose comes in layers: rose with geranium, violet and lily on top, then more rose in the heart alongside hyacinth and champaca, set against powder, leather and a green, cannabis-like edge. The base is where it turns deep. Musk, oud, cedar, frankincense, tonka and amber build a resinous, jammy, slightly animalic floor under all that rose. The leather and powder stop it reading as a garden bouquet and give it the feel of an old jewellery box. Longevity and projection both land in the middle, so it is a scent for people who come near you rather than one that announces you.
