Le Galion Sovereign is an Eau de Parfum launched in 2015, created by Amélie Bourgeois and Anne-Sophie Behaghel. Le Galion's Sovereign carries an Acquired verdict, a woody-led wear.

Sovereign is a dark, regal rose and oud scent with myrrh, amber and plenty of peppery woods. It is serious, rich and masculine, and it is not trying to be friendly.

Top, heart and base are the brand's own listing, not a timing claim - the industry classifies a note by its character as much as by how fast it fades. Each curve here is modelled from that material's own volatility, so groups can overlap when a house lists long-lasting materials in its heart.

About

Sovereign lists eleven notes without a pyramid: rose, woody notes, myrrh, oud, amber, pink pepper, guaiac wood, pepper, patchouli, iris and cedar. Rose and iris give a floral, slightly powdery heart, while pink pepper and pepper add a dry spice. Myrrh, oud, guaiac wood, patchouli and cedar make a dark, resinous, smoky woody base, with amber adding warmth. It is a dense, rich woody floral with a regal, serious mood.
