MATCH Perfumes Carnal Flower - No.26 is an Eau de Parfum. Carnal Flower - No.26 opens with Citrus, Bergamot, Melon, and Eucalyptus, settles into a heart of Orange Blossom, Jasmine, Tuberose, and Ylang-Ylang, and dries down to a base of Musk and Tuberose. MATCH Perfumes's Carnal Flower - No.26 carries an Acquired verdict, a white floral-led wear.

No.26 goes after Frederic Malle's Carnal Flower - a lush, coconut-tinged tuberose powerhouse - and gets the tropical white-floral heart across, but the tuberose reads noticeably thinner and the sillage tightens up far sooner than the original's stellar, room-filling longevity.

About

Carnal Flower is Frederic Malle's most celebrated white floral, a tuberose composition unlike most others thanks to a green, camphoraceous eucalyptus opening that gives way to a lush, creamy jasmine-coconut heart before a long tuberose-musk drydown. It is expensive partly because tuberose absolute itself is one of the costliest raw materials in perfumery, and the fragrance is known for moderate-to-heavy sillage and genuinely stellar longevity. Match Perfumes' No.26 draws from the same note list - citrus, bergamot, eucalyptus and melon up top, tuberose, jasmine, ylang-ylang, orange blossom and coconut at heart, tuberose absolute and musk underneath - and the green, camphoraceous opening followed by creamy coconut-jasmine is a genuinely close early impression. The gap opens later: the original's tuberose keeps building in richness and clings to skin and fabric for most of a day, while No.26's tuberose reads flatter and thinner, and both projection and longevity fall away well before the hours the original delivers. It is a fair introduction to the tropical white-floral mood, just a much quieter and shorter-lived one.
