About

Blue Stallion is a large, many-layered fragrance, and it is best taken in three steps. The opening is a bright, spiced rush. Saffron and lavender lead, with bergamot, grapefruit, cinnamon, nutmeg and cardamom around them. Styrax, artemisia, cypress and apple add smoky, green and fruity touches, so the first minutes feel busy and aromatic. The heart is dark and dry. Agarwood and tobacco sit with cedar, labdanum and cashmeran, while geranium, jasmine and lily-of-the-valley add a faint floral lift. The effect is warm, smoky and slightly sweet. The base is where it settles. Leather and a second layer of agarwood sit on patchouli, guaiac wood, sandalwood and vetiver, with benzoin, vanilla, tonka bean, amber and musk adding a soft, resinous glow. As an extrait it is strong and long-lasting, and a spray or two is plenty. It is made for cool weather, evenings and occasions when a scent should be noticed. It works on anyone who enjoys oud and leather. Oakcha no longer sells Blue Stallion (its page has been removed from oakcha.com), and this page records it for owners. Bottom line: a rich, spiced oud and leather scent with a lot of depth.
