Coco Madame Attar takes its name and its ambitions from Chanel's Coco Mademoiselle, a fragrance whose reputation rests on a precisely balanced citrus-floral-chypre structure. The bergamot opening here is bright and convincing, a fair echo of the original's crisp start. The middle is where the gap widens: jasmine and rose are present but read as a single sweet floral note rather than the layered, slightly green bouquet Chanel built, and the mimosa that adds powdery nuance to the real thing barely registers. The base fares better, with patchouli and vanilla doing the heavy lifting and giving the oil a warm, slightly sweet finish that isn't far off the spirit of the original, even if it lacks its vetiver-driven dryness and sophistication. As an oil, projection stays modest and the whole thing settles into a soft skin scent within an hour or two. It captures the general silhouette of Coco Mademoiselle - citrus, floral, patchouli-vanilla base - without any of the precision that made the designer version a modern classic.
