Reflection Man Attar

Reflection Man Attar takes on Amouage's Reflection Man, a fragrance prized for its sunny, aromatic citrus opening and its quiet, well-dressed musky-woody finish. This oil nails the loud part convincingly: the bergamot and neroli burst out immediately and stay sharp for the first stretch of wear, arguably brighter than the original's more measured citrus. Where it loses ground is the middle - the jasmine, rosemary and geranium that in Amouage's version knit the citrus into the woody base feel thin here, more of a passing note than a real transition. The musk and sandalwood base holds reasonably well and keeps the composition clean rather than sweet, which is the right instinct even if it lacks the original's polish and oakmoss depth. Projection is modest, as expected from an oil, so this reads best as a close-to-skin, office-safe freshness rather than a statement scent. A fair budget echo of a genuinely sophisticated fragrance, missing most of its nuance.
