Yum Marshmallow Attar

Yum Marshmallow Attar is Pearl Fragrances' oil version of Kayali's Yum Boujee Marshmallow, the fragrance built around Mona Kattan's own 'pink marshmallow' nickname and marketed as a warm, comforting sweet scent. The dupe opens with the same candied apple and freesia brightness before strawberry and coconut take over, recreating the milkshake-like character several reviewers use to describe the original. The drydown is where it simplifies things: where Kayali's version develops slowly into raspberry sugar, pink musk and ambrox over several hours, this oil settles faster into a single-note vanilla-musk sweetness that doesn't quite have the same layered, marshmallow-toasted quality. It is also less floral than the original - orange blossom and freesia fade early, leaving the fruit and sugar to do most of the work. Projection stays close to the skin throughout, which suits an oil format. For the price, it delivers a fun, unmistakably sweet fruity-gourmand experience that plays in the same space as the original without matching its complexity.
