Green Opening opens on a rush of green: lime, galbanum-tinged green notes, bergamot and neroli laced with basil, the crisp, leafy overture that made Vent Vert a benchmark green floral. The heart blooms with hyacinth, lily-of-the-valley, freesia, rose, jasmine and violet over a persistent galbanum thread, before a base of oakmoss, sandalwood, vetiver, amber and musk grounds it in soft, mossy woods. Germaine Cellier's 1947 original is famously an ultragreen chypre with moderate sillage and longevity; this budget interpretation captures the leafy-green signature pleasantly but, as community comparisons observe, it leans softer and sweeter over time, reading more like a green fougere than the original's sharp, vegetal chypre.
