The heart turns gently floral, mandarin orange threading into magnolia, jasmine and a touch of rose, the tropical-flower core that gives the original its character. The drydown settles into warm amber, vanilla, cashmeran, sandalwood, musk and patchouli, a soft, resinous base that rounds everything off. Compared with the genuine Goldfield & Banks, this budget version flattens some of the exceptionally resinous amber and the seamless way ginger keeps its lead, leaning a touch more generic, and the longevity falls below the original's seven-hour wear.
