Night Victory revisits one of the great lost masculines: Joop! Nightflight, long discontinued and missed. The opening is unmistakably aromatic, with lavender, juniper and a slice of pineapple set against fresh bergamot and lemon. A floral heart of jasmine, rose and lily-of-the-valley, threaded with almond and rosewood, keeps it classically built and slightly old-school in the best way. The base is the payoff - warm sandalwood, tonka, amber and musk - delivering the resinous, woody comfort vintage fans remember. Where the original could open like pungent gunpowder herbs before blooming, Perfume Parlour's take is gentler and rounder from the start, with the green-herbal bite softened. Longevity is respectable and sillage moderate, though it does not quite match the vintage's whopper projection. A versatile, sophisticated wood-aromatic for spring through autumn, equally at home at the office or a relaxed evening out.
