Royal Oud Blend opens with a vibrant rush of saffron, sweetened by cardamom and a dusting of Indonesian nutmeg - a spicy, almost leathery flourish that signals intent. The heart turns velvety and floral: a plush Turkish rose threaded with osmanthus and jasmine, lending a refined sweetness before the composition dives into its base. There a smooth oud, supple leather, warm tonka, patchouli and cedar build a dark, woody depth. The reference, Maison Crivelli's Oud Stallion, is famous for its raw, animalic oud-leather and near-relentless longevity at extrait strength; this Perfume Parlour version captures the shape and the opulent mood but renders the leather cleaner and the oud less barnyardy, with the saffron pushed slightly louder to compensate. Projection is moderate to strong at first before settling closer to the skin, and longevity, while respectable, does not reach the original's day-long staying power. It remains a bold, sophisticated rose-oud for cold-weather evenings, delivering most of the drama for a fraction of the niche price.
