Wales Perfumery Votadini is an Eau de Parfum launched in 2025, created by Louise Smith. Votadini settles into a heart of Red Fruits and Red Wine, and dries down to a base of Cypriol Oil or Nagarmotha, Cistus Incanus, Leather, and Patchouli. Wales Perfumery's Votadini carries an Acquired verdict, a fruity-led wear.

A dark, earthy Eau de Parfum of red wine, red fruits, leather and patchouli over hay and cistus. Two wearers describe strong character but not a typical longevity or reach.

Top, heart and base are the brand's own listing, not a timing claim - the industry classifies a note by its character as much as by how fast it fades. Each curve here is modelled from that material's own volatility, so groups can overlap when a house lists long-lasting materials in its heart.

About

Votadini is an Eau de Parfum from Wales Perfumery's Celts range. It is named for the tribe of Din Eidyn, the settlement that became Edinburgh. When their round houses were excavated, wine goblets and jugs were among the finds, and that image of firelight and feasting is the starting point for the scent. The heart pairs red wine with red fruits. The base is where the weight sits: leather, hay, cistus, cypriol and patchouli, giving a dark, earthy feel. It is wild and unpolished, closer to a cellar than a ballroom. Only two wearers have written about it. One calls it a beast and describes wine, wet hide, damp earth and dark patchouli. The other describes red wine, hay, smoke and wood, and says they could still notice it on skin after 48 hours. Both point to a strong character, but two individual impressions do not make a general finding on how long it lasts or how far it carries. Votadini suits wearers who like leather, patchouli and a boozy fruit note in an untamed mix. A small sample on skin will show whether it is a feast or simply too much for everyday wear.
