Première Note
French niche house from Paris built around single-note centric compositions inspired by world winds and travel.
Première Note is a French niche perfume brand created in Paris in 2014, positioned as a high-end house working with carefully selected raw materials from around the world.[1][5] The range is built around the idea of composing fragrances from clearly defined, high quality notes, so that each perfume highlights one key material in a transparent, readable way.[1][2][7]
The brand sits within Création Beauté International, a French fragrance and cosmetics group that relaunched Première Note in 2024 with new storytelling and a redesigned collection.[1] This relaunch introduced a structure of four main collections inspired by the compass rose and named after winds: The Mistral Blow, The Westerlies, The Sahara’s Sirocco and The Baikal Winds, each tied to a distinct olfactive direction from bright citrus and florals to woods, spices and warmer oriental tones.[1]
Première Note’s compositions are often described as clean, linear and material-focused, with an emphasis on traceable ingredients and a style that makes layering and custom combinations straightforward.[1][2][4] The brand collaborates with established perfumers such as Mélanie Leroux, Jérôme di Marino, Maïa Lernout, Karine Dubreuil-Sereni, Nathalie Lorson, Patrice Revillard and Mathieu Nardin, who translate this raw-material focus into relatively modern, accessible structures.[7]
Several fragrances, including Orange Calabria, Ambre Kashmir, Fig Bosphorus and others across the house’s collections, are frequently discussed online for their clarity of note depiction and ease of wear in everyday settings as well as more dressed-up occasions.[4][6] While individual scents vary in complexity and intensity, Première Note is generally associated with polished niche perfumery at a mid to upper mid price level rather than ultra-luxury pricing.[2][10]
A niche, premium house known for woody compositions.
Première Note launched in 2014 as a Paris-based niche line focused on showcasing individual raw materials through relatively straightforward compositions.[1][5][7] Over time, the collection expanded and the brand refined its travel concept, associating each fragrance with specific regions and ingredients.[4][5] In 2024, under Création Beauté International, the house underwent a significant revamp, reorganising its catalog into four wind-inspired collections and updating its visual identity.[1] The current direction leans into a compass-rose narrative, but keeps the original DNA of single-note centric, layerable scents intact.[1][2]
Première Note is a solid choice if you want clean, material-focused niche perfumes that are easy to understand and to layer without outrageous pricing. If you prefer highly complex, avant-garde compositions or heavy statement scents, other houses will likely suit you better.
