Alexandria UK The Best Life is an Eau de Parfum. The Best Life opens with Bergamot, Grapefruit, Fig, and Melon, settles into a heart of Black Tea, Lavender, and Magnolia, and dries down to a base of Amber and Sandalwood. Alexandria UK's The Best Life carries an Acquired verdict, a aromatic-led wear.

The Best Life recreates the fig-melon-grapefruit opening that made the now-discontinued Davidoff Good Life a cult favourite, moving into a black tea and lavender heart. It captures the freshness well but flattens some of the original's more interesting green fig-leaf dew nuance into a simpler fruity-aromatic scent.

About

The Best Life takes on the fig-and-fruit signature of Davidoff Good Life, a fragrance discontinued in the early 2000s that still has a devoted following. It opens with a vivid burst of fig and honeyed melon splashed with zesty grapefruit and bergamot, closely tracking the original's fresh, mouth-watering start. A heart of steeped black tea, lavender and soft magnolia follows, echoing Good Life's cooling middle section, before settling into a smooth base of sandalwood and warm amber. The overall effect is fresh and easy to wear, though the fig note here reads a touch more generic than the original's distinctive green fig-leaf dew, and the composition is somewhat flatter across the board. Still, for anyone who misses Good Life and can't find a bottle of the original, this is a reasonably faithful and very affordable way back into that fig-tea territory. Best for warm-weather daytime wear.
