The Blu Talassim

The Blu Talassim opens with the same lively citrus fizz that put Ex Nihilo Blue Talisman on the map - bergamot, ginger and mandarin splashing over crisp, juicy pear. The heart moves into sweet orange blossom, echoing the original's cool, futuristic transition, before settling into a base of clean musk, cedar and amber. Where it can't quite match up is the base: Blue Talisman leans on proprietary captive materials (Georgywood, Akigalawood, Ambrofix) for a genuinely distinctive, hyper-clean woody-musk signature, and this version substitutes more familiar, less nuanced wood and musk notes instead. It's a decent, wearable approximation of the fruity-musk vibe at a fraction of the cost, well suited to office or daytime wear, though it won't fully replicate the polished, high-tech character that makes the original stand out in its category.
