Paco Rabanne's Phantom built its identity on an unlikely pairing - a sharp lemon-lavender opening giving way to sweet apple and a smoky vanilla-patchouli base - that reviewers note performs well for an Eau de Toilette, often running eight-plus hours. Clean Shaven's version gets the quirky opening right: the lavender and citrus hit is recognisable within the first spray, and there's a believable apple sweetness in the early heart. Where it falls short is the dry-down. The real Phantom's smoky, slightly powdery patchouli base is what keeps people noticing it hours later, and the dupe's version settles into a simpler, flatter vanilla sweetness that loses definition well before the original would still be going. A decent way to sample the concept on a night out, but plan a reapplication if you want it to last.
