Wild Dark Oud

Wild Dark Oud is an oud for people who like the barnyard side of the material. The seller says it is not for the faint hearted and calls it wild, dark and beasty, built on Cambodian oud with leather, birch tar, castoreum and black musk. Dark patchouli, frankincense and oakmoss run underneath, with pomegranate and black cherry giving a small fruity note and sandalwood, cedarwood and cypress giving the wood. Wearers describe it in strong terms: a beast of a scent, a sexy, daring oud and birch combination, unapologetically raw and woody with an animalistic musk. One Parfumo author reads a dull animalic character with a fruity-fresh nuance and a translucent moss. A buyer calls it the best oud they own, dark but soft, shouting but whispering, and could still smell it two days later in their hair and on a jacket. Expect a very long-lasting, strong scent that wears best in autumn and winter, in the evening and on its own or layered with other scents, as one buyer does. Use it sparingly. It belongs with the animalic oud scents, a niche corner of small-batch perfumery. It is made by hand by Juliet Rose and sold in sizes from a sample to 50 ml.
