Halfeti Leather is Pearl Fragrances' Extrait de Parfum version of Penhaligon's Halfeti Leather, a spiced fruit-and-leather fragrance from the house's Trade Routes collection. The opening captures a fair amount of the original's character: juicy plum against warm cardamom and a touch of bergamot, giving a rich, slightly boozy first impression that mirrors the real fragrance's fruit-forward start. Rose, cinnamon, and violet build a spiced-floral heart, echoing Penhaligon's more elaborate middle of rose, nutmeg, and cumin, though it arrives simpler and less textured here, losing some of the original's exotic, market-spice complexity. The base is where the differences show most. Penhaligon's version builds a genuinely smoky, resinous leather around agarwood and incense that lingers for hours with real depth; this take keeps the same building blocks but renders them thinner, with the leather softening faster and the oud and incense fading into a quieter, less smoky finish. It still lands as a warm, spiced leather fragrance suitable for cooler-weather evenings and dressier occasions, just without the original's smouldering intensity or its long, layered development.
