Charmful follows Estee Lauder's Very Estee: a fresh, dewy opening of lotus, freesia and cassis lifted by pink pepper, leading into a refined rose heart - Bulgarian rose and rose petals with gardenia and jasmine for fullness. It is an elegant, modern floral with little sweetness and a clean, slightly green character. The drydown rests on a soft woody-musk base of sandalwood, cedar and cashmere wood. Against the original, the PP take keeps the floral pretty but turns a touch sweeter and smokier in the drydown, while the delicate, watery freshness reads simpler and more linear. The designer was always a light, intimate wear of around three hours, and this dupe is similar - modest projection and a few hours of soft floral wear. A polished, feminine floral for daytime, the office and dressed-up occasions.
