Florence Extreme Wood

Perfume Parlour Florence Extreme Wood is an Eau de Parfum launched in 2016. Florence Extreme Wood opens with Frankincense and Saffron, settles into a heart of Woody, Amber, and Rose, and dries down to a base of Oud, Leather, Incense, and Frankincense. Perfume Parlour's Florence Extreme Wood carries an Acquired verdict, a woody-led wear.

Florence Extreme Wood chases Gucci's Intense Oud - that sweet, smoky oud wrapped in incense, leather and warm amber. The dark, opulent mood lands, but it reads flatter and less layered, missing the original's shifting complexity and powerhouse projection.

About

A budget take on the benchmark designer oud Gucci Intense Oud, Florence Extreme Wood opens with a curl of frankincense smoke and a flicker of saffron before the heart settles into warm amber, a faint rose and dry woods. The base is where this scent lives, echoing the original: a sweet, smoky oud bound to supple leather and resinous incense and olibanum, dark and opulent. Set against the real Intense Oud it reads more two-dimensional, the oud less shape-shifting and the smoke-and-leather interplay thinner, so it trades some of the designer complexity for a leaner, smokier oud. Projection is moderate and turns close after the first hours, with respectable but not the original's marathon longevity. Even so, for the money it captures that powerful, exotic oud signature convincingly - a smoky, leathery, amber-warmed depth that suits cold-weather evenings, formal occasions and dates, reading as bold, mysterious and grown-up rather than fresh or sweet.
