Guided Reverie opens on the same smooth, addictive pairing that defines Amouage's Guidance 46, juicy pear and creamy hazelnut wrapped in rose water, bitter almond and a curl of frankincense, lifted by pink pepper. The heart blooms with rose, osmanthus and jasmine sambac threaded through warm saffron, a floral core that feels both luxurious and modern. It settles into a creamy, woody drydown of sandalwood, akigalawood and vanilla over ambergris, labdanum and a touch of cypriol. Set beside the original, Perfume Parlour's take pushes the sweet nutty-pear facet harder and renders the precious woody-amber base flatter and less refined, losing some of the original extrait's plush, expensive depth. Performance steps down too: where Guidance 46 wears 10 hours or more, this dupe sits closer to the skin and fades sooner. For a few pounds it captures that deep, creamy floral with the signature nutty twist convincingly enough for dressed-up cool-weather wear.
