Milan Dark Wood

Perfume Parlour Milan Dark Wood is an Eau de Parfum launched in 2016. Milan Dark Wood opens with Bergamot, Pink Pepper, and Cardamom, settles into a heart of Rose, Iris, and Geranium, and dries down to a base of Saffron, Tonka Bean, and Oud. Perfume Parlour's Milan Dark Wood carries a Statement verdict, a oud-led wear.

A budget interpretation of Armani Eau de Nuit Oud's dark, sweet rose-and-oud signature. Milan Dark Wood lands the peppery cardamom opening and the rose-oud heart, but flattens the original's mature, slightly animalic depth into something softer and sweeter.

About

Milan Dark Wood opens spicy and refined, with cardamom and pink pepper sparkling over bergamot - the elegant, mature introduction that marks Armani Eau de Nuit Oud. The heart is built around a dark, jammy rose, lifted by powdery iris and a green geranium edge. From there it sinks into a dark-sweet base of agarwood, saffron and tonka, oud lending a woody, faintly animalic richness rounded off by tonka's roasted sweetness. The original is a low-key but long-wearing, grown-up oud-rose; this Perfume Parlour version reads flatter and a touch sweeter, with the oud reading more woody-sweet than pungent and the projection sitting closer to the skin. It remains a handsome, characterful budget pick for cooler weather, best worn in autumn and winter for evenings, dates and dressed-up occasions where its dark rose-oud can smoulder.
