Mounera opens spicy and resinous with cardamom, saffron, black pepper and a smoky oud, slightly rougher up top before it mellows. A whisper of floral warmth bridges the heart, then the composition sinks into its real reward: a creamy, gourmand-leaning base of vanilla, sandalwood and guaiac wood where the oud recedes and the vanilla takes over. Against Mancera's Aoud Vanille, this dupe nails the linear oud-into-vanilla arc and that addictive sweet-woody drydown, but the original's powerful, soft-yet-far-reaching projection is dialled back here, leaving a warmer, closer wear with shorter longevity. It is a cosy, sensual oriental best suited to autumn and winter evenings, delivering much of the original's spiced-vanilla comfort at a budget price.
