NYC Male opens tart and green - violet leaf leading a crisp citrus-rosemary accord that sets the herbal, peppery tone CK Man is known for. A spicy-aromatic heart of bay leaf, nutmeg and cool mint follows, edged with a thread of incense. The base settles into cypress, guaiac wood, sandalwood, amber and musk. Against the Calvin Klein original the dupe reads a touch flatter and less polished: the elegant contrast between the coniferous green top and the creamy amber drydown is simplified, and the distinctive tart violet-leaf sparkle is softened.
