Valentino Born In Roma Uomo Green Stravaganza is an Eau de Toilette launched in 2024. Born In Roma Uomo Green Stravaganza opens with Bergamot, settles into a heart of Coffee, and dries down to a base of Vetiver. Valentino's Born In Roma Uomo Green Stravaganza carries a Favourite verdict, an aromatic-led wear.

Three materials, deliberately: Calabrian bergamot, a coffee heart and Haitian vetiver. An ambery fougère that leans on the coffee for character and on ambroxan for the drydown.

When To Wear

Best Seasons

Best For:
Spring Fall Winter
Also Works:
Summer

The bergamot-and-coffee opening keeps it wearable in mild weather while the ambery vetiver drydown gives it enough warmth for autumn; full summer heat pushes the amber forward too hard.

Best Occasions

Best For:
Office Date Casual Formal

Moderate projection after the opening makes it acceptable in shared spaces, and the coffee note gives it enough interest to carry an evening.

About

Green Stravaganza is the 2024 addition to Valentino's Born in Roma Uomo line, composed by Nathalie Lorson and Olivier Cresp, and it follows the house habit of publishing a three-pillar pyramid rather than a full note list. Calabrian bergamot opens it with a green, slightly bitter citrus that is sharper than the sweet bergamot most designer masculines use, and it sets up the fougère framing the brand claims. Coffee is the heart and the reason the fragrance has a personality at all; it is a roasted, energetic note rather than a milky gourmand one, and it gives the composition a bitterness that stops the whole thing sliding into the generic sweet-amber territory that dominates this shelf. Haitian vetiver forms the base on paper, described by the house as earthy and refined, though in practice a number of wearers report that the vetiver is hard to find and that an ambroxan-driven sweetness takes over the drydown instead. That is a fair criticism and worth knowing before buying. What you actually get after a couple of hours is a warm, slightly salty ambery skin scent with a coffee shadow. Longevity is strong, comfortably past six hours, with moderate projection after the opening. The bottle is the usual Rockstud flacon in a black-to-green gradient. It suits spring and autumn, and works for daytime as easily as evening.
