French neuroscience-driven niche brand creating mood-targeted wellbeing fragrances and layering essences.
Edeniste is a French niche perfume brand created by Audrey Semeraro, who set out to apply neuroscience research on emotion and scent directly to fine fragrance. The brand introduced its first collection in 2022, launching exclusively at Harrods in London before expanding to luxury retailers across the Middle East, Eastern Europe, and Italy. From the outset, Semeraro worked with the Japanese fragrance and flavor company Takasago and neuroscientists to measure how specific olfactory molecules influence mood and stress markers such as cortisol and alpha-amylase.
Each Eau de Parfum is built around a patented “Destress” or “Edenade” accord, designed to help regulate and rebalance stress levels. The initial line includes Rose Délice, Vetiver Imaginaire, Jasmin Cruel, Néroli Sensuel and the Eau de Parfum Intense creations Vanille Irresistible, Cuir Sauvage, Rose Fatale and Oud Mystique, with Oud Mystique offered as a Harrods exclusive. Alongside these EdPs, Edeniste offers LifeBoost active essences such as Energy, Happiness, Seduction, Love, Dream, Relaxation and Wellbeing, which are tested using EEG and fMRI to validate their emotional impact.
The brand emphasizes “clean” formulation choices, stating that it relies on natural materials (some certified organic, ethical, or upcycled) combined with selected synthetic molecules and excludes endocrine disruptors, phthalates and parabens. Semeraro positions Edeniste as a response to modern stress and mental health concerns, framing the perfumes and LifeBoost essences as tools that can be layered to support specific emotional needs in daily life.
Edeniste’s olfactory direction is shaped by perfumers Aurélien Guichard and Jérôme di Marino in collaboration with Takasago’s R&D teams. The company plans to add approximately one new Eau de Parfum or LifeBoost fragrance each year and is exploring extensions into home fragrance and limited editions, maintaining its focus on measurable wellbeing benefits supported by laboratory testing and brain imaging studies.

Edeniste began by tightly linking each fragrance to lab-tested emotional outcomes, supported by neuroscience partnerships and patented accords. Over time, the range has grown into a structured wardrobe of wellbeing fragrances and LifeBoost essences, with clearer segmentation of moods such as Energy, Happiness, Seduction and Relaxation. The brand is signaling a gradual expansion beyond personal perfume into home fragrance and limited editions while keeping the same science-oriented framework and yearly launch cadence.
Edeniste is one of the few brands taking functional fragrance claims seriously enough to run actual neuroscientific testing. If you are willing to pay niche prices for moderate performance in exchange for a credible wellbeing concept and thoughtful compositions, it is worth exploring.
