Al Haramain Perfumes Detour Noir Exclusif is an Eau de Parfum launched in 2024. Detour Noir Exclusif opens with Bergamot, Mandarin, Almond, and Rain, settles into a heart of Water Lily, Rose, Geranium, and Gardenia, and dries down to a base of Amber, Sandalwood, Oud, and Patchouli. Al Haramain Perfumes's Detour Noir Exclusif carries an Acquired verdict, a floral-led wear.

This is very much a 'love it or hate it' scent, with strong opinions on both sides. Some hail it as a cheap PDM dupe that improves with maceration, others find it a "jumbled mess" of synthetic, funky notes. Approach with caution and an open mind, as this one is definitely not for everyone.

Top, heart and base are the brand's own listing, not a timing claim - the industry classifies a note by its character as much as by how fast it fades. Each curve here is modelled from that material's own volatility, so groups can overlap when a house lists long-lasting materials in its heart.

When To Wear

Best Seasons

Best For:
Spring Fall Winter

Versatile across every season - no clear seasonal preference from wearers.

Best Occasions

Best For:
Date Formal
Also Works:
Casual

Its potent projection and unique, dark profile make it less suitable for office wear, where it might be too intrusive. However, its sophisticated and bold character, especially after maceration, is excellent for dates and formal events, though perhaps a bit much for casual daytime use given its intensity.

About

Detour Noir Exclusif opens with an intriguing blend of bitter almond and fresh rainwater, cut by bright bergamot and mandarin. The heart introduces a potent animalic civet alongside lush gardenia, rose, geranium, and delicate water lily, lending a complex, slightly indolic floralcy. It dries down to a rich, dark base of coffee, sandalwood, an intense oud, grounding patchouli, guaiac wood, and oakmoss, softened by amber, vanilla, and a hint of pink pepper. This beastly concoction offers serious depth and a slightly medicinal edge.
